With its native forests, cicada songs, birds chirping, and vibrant ecosystem, it’s a natural classroom for children and a sanctuary for all of us.
But did you know? This green space might soon disappear!
The New Taipei City Government plans to build a fire and police station here…
I couldn’t help but write a letter to Mayor Hou You-yi, pleading: Please let Park No.7 stay!

Tamsui’s Park No.7 Nature Park is facing a survival crisis.
The New Taipei city government plans to build a police and fire complex inside the park — a move that would cut down century-old trees, destroy the habitat of owls and fireflies, and, due to poor traffic planning, could even delay critical emergency response time for fire trucks.
Experts and residents are speaking with one voice: we fully support strengthening fire and rescue capacity — but the location must be right!
